Agree the variant before keeping a Doudizhu ledger. This guide uses recreational points for classic three-player play: one landlord against two farmers, settled using an agreed base and multiplier. It does not cover money stakes. Wild-card, four-player, competitive two-against-one and platform-specific systems can differ.
Calculate one settlement unit first
Let B be the agreed base and M the final multiplier. One unit is S=B×M. A landlord win gives +2S to the landlord and −S to each farmer. A farmer-team win gives −2S to the landlord and +S to each farmer. Both farmers share the team result; do not credit only the player who emptied their hand.

Keep a multiplier ledger
Common agreements double for qualifying bombs or the rocket, and again for spring or reverse spring. Bidding, open-hand play, player doubles and caps need a stated policy. List each confirmed multiplier event. In particular, do not accidentally treat a bid of three as both a base of three and another multiplier of three unless the announced format explicitly requires it.
Base three, one bomb and spring
For this example, the base is three, one bomb doubles it, landlord spring doubles it again, and no other multiplier applies. M=4 and S=12. The landlord gets +24 and each farmer −12. If the landlord changes on the next deal, settle according to the new roles; do not keep assigning the landlord result to the same name.
In another deal, base two with no bombs or spring gives S=2. If the farmers win, record −4, +2 and +2. With the same landlord as the previous example, cumulative totals become +20, −10 and −10. Check the individual deal first, then add it to the running ledger. Cumulative points do not become the next deal’s base.
Spring depends on the actual play sequence
A common landlord spring requires a landlord win with neither farmer having played a hand. Reverse spring requires a farmer win after the landlord played only the opening hand. Check the actual sequence, not merely how many cards remain. For a platform variant, use its published definition rather than adding a remembered bonus.
- Record names, roles, base and multiplier policy.
- Note confirmed bomb, rocket and spring events, then calculate the final multiplier.
- Identify the winning side and enter each player’s change.
- Check that the three deal changes sum to zero before updating cumulative totals.
- For a fixed-deal event, track completed deals and the announced tie procedure.

Use the Doudizhu board to enter three players’ points manually. Confirm roles and multipliers first; it does not automatically adjudicate the hand.
